Johnson Odionu, SAN is an alumnus of the prestigious University of Lagos UNILAG where he graduated in Law in the year 1982 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in the year 1983.
To cut his tooth as a practicing Lawyer, he began his legal practice as a youth corps member with High Court of Lagos State (Probate Division) where he was exposed to litigation (1983 – 1984). He then worked in the law firm of A.C. Afubera & Co. Lagos (1984 – 1985) before proceeding to Chief P.O. Okolo & Co. where he was properly grounded in litigation as the said firm worked closely with the Chambers of Chief G.C.M. Onyiuke SAN of blessed memory in serious litigation matters involving defunct A.C.B, C.C.B and several corporate organizations.
He was a partner in the Chambers of M.K. Gbaja-Biamila & Co. briefly which provided the pedestal upon which he set up the law firm of Johnson Odionu & Co. in 1994 after registering same in 1992.
Adding yet another feather to his cap, Johnson Odionu is an Arbitrator and has arbitrated in many commercial disputes involving incorporated companies.
He has also attended seminars on Legal issues especially on the New Rules of High Court of Lagos State Civil Procedure of 2004 and 2019 at the Centre for Law and Development Studies, Lagos. Johnson Odionu, SAN has also attended so many Law Conferences both locally and internationally. He is an active member of the Nigerian Bar Association (Lagos Branch).
Johnson Odionu for more than Thirty-Nine Years has personally handled many cases in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Nigeria.
He was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in September 2024.
